Details
Unwind with Habitat Young Professionals after work and meet other young professionals interested in doing good, while having fun!
This month's happy hour is located at none other than Capitol Cider, and our host is graciously sponsoring free appetizers from their tasty menu; first come, first served! Don't forget to stop by QFC across the street and pick-up some non-perishable food items for our holiday food and coat drive benefiting two very deserving organizations: YouthCare and Federal Way Food Bank! Bring 5 food items or a pair of lined winter gloves to receive 2 extra raffle tickets; 10 food items or a new/like-new coat of any size to receive 5 extra tickets!
What: HYP Happy Hour
When: Thursday, November 21st, 6:00-8PM
Where: Capitol Cider, 818 East Pike Street, Seattle 98122
Why: Because we are a fun and vibrant group of young professionals who come together for the greater social good. If you've always wanted to learn more about Habitat for Humanity and are interested in getting involved in your community, then this event is for you! Please RSVP, and invite your friends and colleagues to join you.
Habitat Young Professionals (http://seattlehyp.org/) is a volunteer-based organization affiliated with Habitat for Humanity. We pride ourselves on creating safe, fun and meaningful experiences for our volunteers, potential volunteers and supporters alike. We are not a "meet-market", and in-fact discourage those just trolling for dates from attending. If any attendee displays inappropriate behavior, makes inappropriate advancements toward, or harasses other attendees, s/he will be escorted off the premises immediately, and will be reported to Meetup. Thank you in advance for helping us create a safe and inviting event.
YouthCare (http://www.youthcare.org/get-involved/host-drive/current-drive) serves homeless youth 12-24yrs to get them off the streets and prepared for life in an effort to break the cycle of homelessness. This season, they need outerwear for all shapes and sizes (coats, gloves, warm hats, etc).
Federal Way Food Bank and Multi-Service Center (http://www.multi-servicecenter.com/get-involved/in-kind-donations/) serves families in the Federal Way area where we've been focusing our monthly efforts since 2011. We are sponsoring a holiday food drive to help feed the families in the area (some of which may be Habitat families).
Want to do more? Gather donations from your family, friends and colleagues, and bring them with you or contact us to make other arrangements.
