Point Defiance Park 10K Walk

Second to Central Park in New York. The land was originally set aside by President Andrew Johnson to be a Federal Military reservation, but was undeveloped and given to Tacoma in 1888 as a park. The picture on the left is of the Pagoda's opening in 1914.

We walk around the park on road shoulders with the many great view points of the sound. This is volkssport year-round walk Y366, rated 2A.

The walk starts at the Boathouse Marina and Tackle Shop near Anthony's Restaurant. While it starts walking uphill, it's mostly gradual, just a few short steeper sections, and we'll end it by coming down the hill to Owen's beach and walking along the water back to the start.
