Mon 25 Mar – 8 pm, Old Ship Pub upstairs. Socialising from 7 pm - "Against the Odds - Battling for Humanism in Europe" with David Pollock, former President of the European Humanist Federation. In Belgium and Norway Humanism is subsidised by the State – but so are the churches, and almost everywhere else it is only the churches that are supported, to the tune in total of several billion Euros a year. Meantime the EU cosies up to the Catholic Church, and American televangelists finance legal experts to intervene in human rights cases in Strasbourg.

The video of Leo Igwe's talk on 'Breaking the Taboo of Atheism in Black Communities' is now on Youtube so if you missed it due to the clash with David Pollock's talk you may enjoy this chance to catch up!
