WELCOME!

I'm Candy, and I founded The Sunshine Gals of Orange County in January 2009 as a birthday gift to myself. I decided to start this lovely group after an unsuccessful search for a women's social organization that suited me. I wanted to surround myself with joyful, positive, authentic gals who were filled with kindness, compassion, laughter and a zest for life. I wanted a group that would Spread Sunshine wherever we went. I also wanted to share new adventures, dining experiences, and philanthropic endeavors with new friends. Since our beginning, The Sunshine Gals have grown into a beautiful group who have touched many lives and have made many lifelong friends.

In 2011 I moved to Palm Springs and launched The Sunshine Gals of Palm Springs & the Desert Cities in January of 2012. If you enjoy visiting this desert paradise, I invite you to join both OC & PS chapters. Members from both chapters are always welcome to any Sunshine event. Both chapters of The Sunshine Gals enjoy dining out, movies, the arts, tea parties, home & garden tours, outdoor concerts, plays & performances, day trips, several charity projects and much much more.  We're always open for new experiences and adventures.

First things First

We are NOT a networking group. The Gals enjoy knowing that when we get together, we won't be sold something….even in the name of charity.  There are many other groups on Meetup that are specifically for networking, and many of our Sunshine Gals belong to those great groups, but we are not one of them. ABOUT US

The Sunshine Gals of Orange County is a social and philanthropic society of fun-loving, compassionate and whimsical Gals who celebrate life with a positive outlook and sunny disposition...and lots of love and laughter. Our members foster friendships, kindness and giving through various social and charitable activities.

Each of our Sunshine Gals brings something special to our group. We are proud to be a society of unique women from all walks of life, who love to share ideas for new experiences and new philanthropic projects, all with a spirit of joy and great sense of humor.

All of our social events and philanthropic projects are completely voluntary. Only YES RSVP's are necessary, but please update your RSVP if you change your mind or can’t attend after all. Members are free to choose which events or projects they would like to participate in. Members are welcome to add an event or project to our calendar and volunteer as an event host. Better yet, become a group organizer and have access to our calendar to plan events that suit your interests. The more organizers we have, the richer our calendar will be.

Volunteering our time and collecting items for charities is an important element of our group. We donate these items to charitable organizations and anyone needing a little ray of sunshine in their life. If you have a charity close to your heart, please let us know. We would love to support many charitable organizations and make others aware of them.

Our group colors are yellow and pink. You will find many of the Gals wearing our colors to make us easier to spot at our events and to show our Sunshine Gal spirit. We welcome you to show your spirit too...it adds to the fun and whimsy of our group. Wearing just one yellow/pink accessory counts! Anything we wear with our colors is affectionately called "frippery", a word which is defined as: showy finery; finery in dress, especially when gaudy, frivolous, pretentious, or the like.

WE LOVE THEME MEETUPS! So if you have an idea for one, let us know. Every February we have our RED HOT Valentine's meetup where we show up at a restaurant/venue dressed in red, with heart shaped jewelry, furs, and dripping in diamonds, pearls and rhinestones.

The Sunshine Gals love flowers, gardens, and nature. Our group flowers are Roses & Sunflowers, which represents happiness, beauty, strength and friendships. Lemons will always have a special place too as we believe "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade!"

I am very proud of the enthusiasm of our group and with its growth and progress. I am grateful to be surrounded by such kind, positive and genuine women who make The Sunshine Gals what it is today...BEAUTIFUL.
