About us
The St. Louis Game Development meetup is dedicated to bringing game developers, both professional and amateur, together to socialize and collaborate. Each month we host a get together for veterans and newcomers of the development world. This includes individuals with skills or aspirations in game design, programming, animation, 3D modeling, or any other craft related to producing a video game.
At its core, game development depends on the relationships between all those involved to bring a project to fruition. We'd like to provide a supportive atmosphere for people to get together and share their experiences, and maybe make a few friends along the way. Who knows, you may just find someone who can help you with your next idea!

Global Game Jam 2026
We are excited to announce Global Game Jam 2026! Come team up with local creators and make a game over the weekend! This event is open to ALL (even remote friends)! Students from any campus are also welcome.
The official GGJ site registration is now up! REGISTER HERE!
Online and in-person participants are both welcome. For online participation and to stay up to date on event details, join our Discord server! All participants must abide by the GGJ Code of Conduct and STLGameDev Community Guidelines.
Internet in-person at UMSL may have heavy traffic, so it is advised that you download and install your tools and any other large files at home before arriving for the jam! This venue was designed primarily for students with notebooks. Guests with “LAN party"-style full tower PC rigs may struggle to find comfortable spacing and wattage accommodations. Folks with large computer and electrical needs should adjust their technology footprint accordingly (bring a laptop) and/or consider remote participation.
Some food will be provided at certain times throughout the weekend. The venue may fill up fast depending on the number of attendees.
Reach out and let us know if you have any questions!

Share & Play: Game Showcase/Playtesting!
St. Louis County Library - Clark Family branch, 1640 South Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO, USJoin us for casual game playtesting! This is an opportunity for developers to share their progress, observe playtesting, and get feedback on their projects, and for local game enthusiasts to get their hands on new games, prototypes, and give helpful feedback.
We will be in the Creative Lab upstairs on the second floor!
We encourage everyone to bring game projects that you are working on or recently finished to show off! Game jam games, video games, physical games, student projects, and everything in between!
Submission Guidelines:
- This event is specifically for testing games YOU have made or are working on. It is not a space to play the latest AAA games, games you did not work on, or games that you do not have consent to test in public.
- You will not be able to showcase a game without registering ahead of time. Please arrive at 11:30am to setup your hardware and be ready for playtesting by noon. Individuals who register and do not show up to the event may be excluded from future opportunities.
- Game content should generally be family friendly. Your game should not contain any explicit violence or adult content. Mild cartoonish violence is acceptable. Keep things relative to PG-13 or Teen rating at most. If you're not sure, check with us about it.
- You must bring your own demo hardware. Laptops, notebooks, tablets, and mobile devices are encouraged. There will not be space for large gaming rigs and monitors. Small board and card games are also allowed, but table space is limited. Make sure to also bring gamepads or any other input devices needed to play your game!
- STLGameDev reserves the right to refuse or remove any game from our showcases for any reason.
