Hike Chino Hills State Park to a Sunday Brunch Picnic

Details

ABOUT THE HIKE: From the Discovery Center trailhead, we take an advance beginner, moderate paced, seven mile loop hike with 956 feet of elevation gain/loss. Established in 1977, Chino Hills State Park has 14,100 acres of rolling, grassy hills and valleys dotted with stands of oaks and sycamores. The park is a critical link in the Puente-Chino Hill biological corridor that stretches over 30 miles from the Santa Ana Mountains to the Whittier Hills. The park's diversity of native plants supports over 200 species of birds and mammals. Our loop hike will incorporate the South Ridge, Easy Street, and Telegraph Trails providing sweeping vistas of the park's rich diversity. We will return to the newly completed, architecturally contemporary, Discovery Center for our post hike Sunday Brunch picnic. This is not a hike for fast hikers or slow pokes that are not willing or able to stay with the group. Total hike time will be approximately three hours, with stops at trail junctions to re-group. Dogs are not allowed on the trails within this state park.
