- TrainDay2LA:Parallax Art FairIrvine Metrolink Station, Irvine, CA
Join me in this walk to some morning photo opps in DTLA starting with the Broadway Chinatown Arch with Dragons, Ord and Yale Street Stairs, passing by the Ramon C. Cortines School Of Visual And Performing Arts, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Ahmanson Theatre, Center Theatre Group, The Music Center, Grand Park,LA CIty Hall, Blue Ribbon Gardens, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Broad Museum, and lower Grand where we’ll see the Bunker Hill skyscrapers from beneath Grand Ave. We’ll have lunch at nearby Lemonade Restaurant (lemonadela.com) After Lunch, we’ll walk to the FREE Parallax Art Fair. The walk will be ~3.5 mi up to this point and there is a metro station nearby as a return option, but expect a minimum of 7 miles before the day is done, mostly flat with around 200 stairs along the way.
Note: On this Urban Hike I will pick what I think is the most scenic route, but due to the dynamic nature of LA, we may see all sorts of Big City stuff along the way. If the thought of walking 7+ miles and seeing a few homeless bothers you then this is not the event for you.
We’ll take the OC 661 @9:21 to LA Union, scheduled to arrive LA at 10:34am Meet at Irvine train station Address: 15215 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine, CA at 9:00am, In Irvine, Look for Chris on Platform 1 the far side use the bridge to cross the tracks. We’ll meet In Irvine Between the elevator and the north end of Platform 1. We will take train OC 668 back leaving at 4:27pm from Union Station arriving Irvine at 5:36pm.
Feel free to hop on OC 661 anywhere along the line. If meeting us in LA meet in front of Starbucks by the main lobby, and let me know in the comments or pm so we can look out for you. There are nearby bathrooms, now would be a good time to use them if needed.
Take advantage of the weekend day pass for $10 which transfers to all metro rail lines as well. Board OC661 anywhere along the line. If meeting us in LA, please let me know so we can look out for you.
Buy your ticket at the station using the ticket Machines, Hit Buy Tickets >> Weekend Day Pass. or use your phone to first select any station combo then weekend day pass.Note: Do not pay with a Bill larger than a $20 or you may not get change!
