OC Girlfriend Circles
Are You Interested In:
• Making meaningful friendships?
• Learning new skills to improve the friendships you have?
• Meeting women who share your desire for healthy friendships?
• Making real connections with women who are also looking for the same?
We are looking for:
• Women of all ages (21 to 101), in all stages of life who are seeking to find, create and build friendships.
• Women who want to improve their friendship skills.
• Women who are willing to be responsible for their behaviors and be respectful of others.
Who we are:
Our group was founded in August 2014. We are a Women's Friendship group based on the concepts and principles in 2 books by Shasta Nelson.
In "Friendships Don't Just Happen" we learn about the 5 Types or Circles of Friendships that we have in our lives and how to strengthen those circles so that we have friends in all areas of our life.
In "Frientimacy" we learn that there are 3 requirements to every friendship: Consistency, Positivity and Vulnerability. The book goes into depth about each of these, how to develop them, and how to know which might be missing in your friendships.
We use these teachings by requiring consistency and commitment from our members. You can't get to know people deep enough to develop and strengthen your friendship if you don't see them regularly. Statistics tell us that it takes 7 interactions with one person to really start building friendship. We keep our group numbers small, less than 50, to help improve the chances that you'll see the same people over and over again.
We are NOT just about the fun events or finding someone to do something with you. We are very focused on our connections and for this reason there is always a time for connecting at every event. This is the crucial component of our activities. I understand that finding events you enjoy is important and we all LOVE to do fun stuff while creating memories and strengthening our bond but if the fun event is all you're looking for we aren't the right fit for you, there are LOTS of other Meetups for that.
We are open, warm and friendly.
My Southern upbringing tends to shine through and I will go out of my way to make you feel welcome and included as will the rest of the group members.

Whitney. We strive to offer the most fun and scenic outdoor activities available to residents of Orange County.... events that are both in and out of area.

Why a past trauma or bad experience can continue to affect you, even months and years later
What causes the memories and emotions of a past trauma to suddenly trigger
How to permanently overcome your past bad experiences and emotional pain
Where do strong feelings of emotional pain actually come from?
Tools and techniques to stay above your negative thoughts and emotional pain

Orange County Social Prime (20s-30s)
Santa Ana, CA
Welcome! This group is for anyone between the ages 23ish - 37ish living in Orange County, who are currently in, or entering, the prime of their lives! The period where you are enjoying your passions, establishing your career, and carving your own path! Join us and other peak performers as we discover new places, learn new skills, and make new friends!
Here at OC Social Prime we focus on two types of events: events where you can discover new passions and develop new skills, and events where you can have fun socially and make new friends.
These can include: fitness events, festivals, skill workshops, happy hours, hikes, coffee socials, sports, and anything else that looks like a good time!
To join us please fill out the profile completely (including exact age), and have a clear picture of yourself (no group pics/wearing helmets/cartoons). Also, please be aware that no-showing, last-minute flaking, showing up when not on "Going", unannounced/uninvited guests makes it hard for us to make cool events. If you develop a habit of doing so you will be removed from the group. We have a 3-strike policy.
Ultimately, we made this group because we wanted to bring people together who are in similar stages in life, but most of all we want our members to have fun, gain new experiences and develop new friendships.
Hope to meet you soon!
Have any questions, concerns, or event suggestions? Feel free to contact our team of organizers.
Breaking the Cycle of Loneliness
Lake Forest, CA
Do you feel lonely?
Do you feel alone even when you are around people?
Surveys show that the percentage of people feeling lonely has increased over the years, and recently, with the pandemic, reached new heights. In this group we will be discussing effective ways to get out of loneliness and into being able to form strong social connections.
Do you feel any of the following apply to you?
- Feeling socially isolated
- Inability to connect with people
- Feeling lonely even when you’re around other people
- Your interests and ideas are not shared by those around you
- Lacking friends you know you can turn to
- Overly sensitive in social situations
- Anxious about social rejection
- Your friends and family are far away or gone, and you haven’t been able to make new friends
Loneliness begets more loneliness. People who are lonely are more sensitive about the possibility of rejection. They can feel anxious in social situations. Feeling lonely can actually stop you going out and trying to make connections.
How can you break the cycle of loneliness?
We will be giving free webinars that address the underlying causes of loneliness and how to form meaningful connections with other people. You will learn just how much your past experiences affect you in the present—and what you can do to remove that influence and have renewed vitality toward life and friendships.

Finding Female Friends Past Fifty - Orange County (FFF>F OC)
Huntington Beach, CA
Finding Female Friends Past Fifty Orange County (FFF>F OC) is a group of seasoned, interesting, and supportive women 50-ish (mostly between 40’s - 60’s). If you're looking for friends in Orange County, you've found the right place! Many women find ourselves at this age without the social connections we yearn for, and finding friends in our age group can be a challenge. This is exactly why the New York Times article about FFF>F below went viral:
If you join our group with an open heart, sense of adventure, and fun spirit, you may find that even after a few events, you will begin to make connections and form friendships.
Please live in Orange County, we are currently NOT APPROVING requests to join from non-OC residents. And some events will give waitlist priority to OC residents for those non-OC residents already in the group.
We may from time to time pause approvals for OC resident requests for membership as well, so those in the group can get to know each other. If new requests come from someone with very few other groups or RSVPS, we may hold on your acceptance because it looks like a fake account.
***WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS. ALL NEW REQUESTS WILL BE HELD UNTIL WE ARE ABLE TO ACCEPT NEW MEMBERS.***
We reserve the right to not approve, and remove members, and potential members for any undisclosed reason, including what’s stated in our guidelines below.
Please take a moment to review our guidelines prior to your request to join:
MEETUP PROFILE: Our group is growing quickly and it is important for us to be able to connect and communicate with our members. And as a group of women, we are sensitive to being able to know who we are communicating with, as well as being able to recognize you and call you by name at our events. As a result, we require a few specific items regarding your Meetup profile:
Name: We require that you use your actual first name. You do not have to enter a last name, but your first name needs to be what you are addressed by. Profile names that appear to be obscuring identity will not be approved.
Profile: We require a close-up photo that shows your face, head and shoulders with no obscuring elements like sunglasses, a low hat or a mask. Please check your profile picture before you request membership. If your picture does not meet requirements, your request will not be approved. If you need help updating your picture, click here: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002878591-How-do-I-change-my-profile-photo
Notifications: As a member, it is essential that you have your Email Updates and Push Notifications turned on in Settings both on your desktop computer and your phone app. It is also necessary to check back frequently in the days before a scheduled event in case there are any changes or if confirmation is requested. If you need help changing your settings, you can use the following links: Turn on Email Notifications: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002879591-Editing-my-email-settings Turn on Push Notifications: https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002862972-Editing-my-push-notification-settings. PLEASE NOTE: If we are not able to reach you when needed, you may be removed from the group.
ATTENDANCE: Attendance and punctuality are vital for us to create an environment where friendships can flourish; please note that we take attendance seriously. If you are unsure if you can make it to an event, please do not sign up; instead, wait to see if there is room last minute. Not following the guidelines below can result in removal from future events and/or from the group.
Tardiness: It is important to be respectful of everyone's time, including restaurant staff, event staff, and event organizers who often plan in advance to ensure our group can be accommodated, etc. Please plan ahead to ensure you arrive on time. Excessive tardiness of over 10 minutes may result in you being removed from future events, and/or from the group.
RSVPs: As our group expands, we typically have several ladies on the waitlist for our events. We ask that if you need to change your RSVP, you do so no later than 48 hours prior to the event. This will provide members on the waitlist some notice that they are able to go to the event and allow them to adjust their plans accordingly. We understand that life happens and sometimes there are last-minute changes; however, multiple sudden drop-outs with less than 48 hours notice may result in you being marked as a “No Show” (see below).
No-Shows: A lot of work and coordination goes into planning an event, and part of what makes events fun is having everyone show up! All event coordinators can be reached via message or email through the Meetup app. If you are signed up for an event and you do not attend, you will be marked as "No Show". If this occurs with no communication from you, you may be removed from future events and/or removed from the group.
Waitlists: As our group grows, so do our waitlists. To be fair to some newer members who are never able to get on the "going" list, we may from time to time hold a space or two specifically for new members to be able to join and add them by increasing the number going. Or, if an event is full, and a member or two cancel, we may also add members who are not necessarily new, but are not on other "going" lists, instead of someone next in line on the waitlist, who is already going to other events that week/month and we can give preference to OC residents. This is to try to be more fair to our members. Also, if there are last minute (less than 48 hour) cancellations, we may move those on the waitlist to "not going" and allow whoever is able to go to sign up. Most people already have made other plans 48 hours before an event, so this has been one of the best ways to fill the space and cause hosts less stress when there is a last minute cancellation.
Event Fee Requirements: You may find that some of our events require an event fee to be paid within a certain amount of time. If you are not able to make the payment within the allocated amount of time, you will be moved to “Not Going” to the event. If you RSVP for multiple fee-required events and have a track record of not paying within the allocated amount of time, the event organizer can move you to “Not Going” at their discretion without giving you the allocated amount of time to pay.
ATTITUDE: We pride ourselves in creating a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for our members. We are here to have fun and enjoy our time together. As such, the following behaviors are not allowed, and we reserve the right to remove anyone from the group, without warning or communication for violating these expectations, and distracting us from being able to form real friendships.
~ Controversial topics, such as politics, religion, or anything that could offend another member.
~ Negativity: Our time together is reserved for uplifting and supporting each other. So please come with a positive attitude and leave any negativity at home.
~ Complaining: A lot of time and effort goes into planning an event, and working with the venue for a group of any size is not always easy. Please be a gracious guest and don’t complain about where the table is, how slow the service is, getting separate checks etc. Taking it upon yourself to speak to a manager of a venue to address anything is not tolerated.
~ Drama: We are grown women; drama in any form is unnecessary and will not be tolerated.
~ Bad Behavior: If we receive multiple complaints about a member or an organizer notices something, it's usually a red flag for behavior that is not friend-worthy. Examples include: if you sign up for every event, then cancel later, if you sign up for an event with another group on the same day and time as our event, if you are demanding with the organizers or waitstaff, if you are aggressive or confrontational in approach, if you don't properly pay for your portion of your meal, if you try to go around the normal protocols for signing up for an event to try to get around the waitlist, or anything that causes complaints about you.
~ Business/Networking: Please leave your work hat at home. We are here to make friends, and not be sold to or recruited.
Please remember, you are trying to make a good impression on women who may become your BFF's, other members and organizers notice your behavior, so please act appropriately.
If you are sincerely looking for Female Friends past Fifty and these guidelines align with your personal values, please join us!
We are looking forward to meeting you!

I try to mix it up and keep it interesting for you all and I’m always open to new ideas and feedback. My commitment to every member is that there are no "outsiders" and all folks that identify as a woman loving women are welcome. I believe that the experience of inclusiveness is palpable in our group events whether live or on Zoom.

I would love it if you joined the smwslt mailing list. This separates out our special announcements from all the other meetup emails which can be overwhelming at times. I ask that you please set your notifications at minimum to receive organizer messages and new event announcements. This has to be done while actually on our group site. You can find the settings by clicking on your round profile photo on the top right corner and select email and notifications.
I am so looking forward to meeting you whether it be online or in person when that time comes.
Until then, Your organizer, Jody

HEALTH & HAPPINESS!
Married Couples Of South Orange County 45-60
Looking for fun, active couples who want to get out and enjoy life while creating new friendships.
We are not a political group, but do prefer like minded people who are middle of the road to a conservative leaning.
We want this to be a fun place where we can all create events from hiking, paddle boarding, bowling, picnics, game nights, Disneyland days, etc. We don’t want to limit ourselves to just evening activities.
The goal is to keep the events to a limit of 4-6 couples per event to facilitate ability to get to know one another better.
THIS IS NOT A SWINGERS OR OTHER SEXUAL TYPE OF GROUP! If that’s what you are looking for, this is not for you.
Overcoming Trust Issues in Relationships
Lake Forest, CA
Are you anxious you’ll get hurt (again)?
Are you putting up walls in your relationship?
In this group we will be giving free webinars on topics to do with trust issues in relationships. A relationship can fail if one or both of the partners feels they have to hold back for fear of being hurt or betrayed. Repercussions can include:
- Difficulty communicating and opening up to your partner
- Constant feelings of anxiety about whether the relationship will work or not
- Reduced intimacy
- Feeling that you can’t create the deep, loving connection you would like
- Strain on family life
A previous bad relationship or breakup can leave you with emotional fallout that stays with you well into the future, affecting your present relationships. Unless this is addressed, you can continue to bring your old pain and mistrust into your current and future relationships. In our webinars you can learn how to rid yourself of your relationship emotional baggage and be able to build a truly trusting, loving relationship.
WHAT IF MY PARTNER IS CHEATING ON ME?
If you are wondering if you are right to be mistrustful, we’ll be giving webinars on how to spot a toxic or deceitful partner. There are specific personality traits you’ll learn about that are associated with a toxic person—and which are very often hidden from immediate view! We’ll also tell you the telltale signs of someone who is doing something deceitful behind your back, such as cheating on you, flirting or misusing mutual finances.
We’re looking forward to meeting you via our webinars! Please message us if you have any questions.
This group was created by South Coast Mission Dianetics & Scientology Self-Improvement Center.
