2014: The Year of the Tech War For Talent

Ever wonder what managers really look for when they're making hires? Here's your chance to hear it straight from the horse's mouth!

As Technology continues to evolve, the competition for talent is at an all-time high.

Our 3-person panel will feature a representative from different facets of the Technology talent race: An enterprise company, a hot startup, and an IT recruiting firm.

Get the inside scoop of what they're looking for and hear the highs and lows of hiring.  You'll also have the chance to ask those burning questions you've always wanted answered.

Our Moderator for the evening will be Talbot Crowell, Chief Software Architect at Third Millennium, Inc.  and Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional).  You can follow Talbott on Twitter @Talbott which has a link to his Wordpress blog for more information on speaking events and sample code.

Our Panelists:

• Chris Chiodo, Director of Engineering at Tapjoy

• Phill Perkins, Divison Manager at Jobspring Partners

• Kimberly Morgan, Manager of Talent Acquisition at Sapient

As always, food and drink will be provided by Workbridge Associates and Jobspring Partners.

There's a diverse selection of panels so it's hopefully an interesting discussion. One nit-picky thing that I want to point out is that the premise is misguided. In a time when "competition for talent is at an all-time high", why would a good candidate care "what managers really look for" when s/he have 2-3 offers to choose from already? As a person on the hiring side, I was hoping to learn about strategies other companies do to, you know, fight for talents, and not the other way around.

Paul, The event will cover both sides of the hiring process. The description says our panelists will discuss the highs and lows of hiring, as well as what they look for in a candidate...

Is there a way that I could attend this Meetup remotely? Through GoToMeeting for example? That would be very useful. Thanks.
