Bristol and Bath walking/hiking social group Pages

This is a friend's group is run on a voluntary basis by it's members.

The subs are paid for by asking for voluntary donations - no one person runs this group or takes whole responsibility.

People leading walks do so voluntarily and are not qualified or professional walk hosts. Everyone coming on a walk is responsible for their own and other's safety.

We suggest new members try a walk or two with us, see if we get on, not all meet ups are the same in nature. There are some walks that are for more serious walkers and have a higher "boot rating" for instance.

We expect group members to treat each other - and the places we visit with respect.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome but must be controlled by the owner and we take no responsibility for them - they must walk with the group at all times.

When you upload a photo it must be of you, and you own it yourself...please don't upload a photo you don't own - we don't accept these at all and can't be expect to monitor these as they may have data attached.

This group and costs for walking

We do incur some costs associated with this group around Meetup subs, pre walking to help with safety and quality so on some walks outside of Bristol and Bath we request a voluntarily donation of £2.

This is a voluntarily donation and if people have bad financial circumstances they don't need to contribute. If we have a weekend away we may add a % to cover pre walks and hosting of the event but we try to keep it low cost as much as we can.

Being a "friend's" group people need to be able to fit it and get on with others ; therefore we reserve the right to remove any person who does not get along with this criteria. Making sure you keep your RSVPs up to date is also essential - people who dont turn up for an event without removing their RSVP, or at least letting the host know may not be a part of this group.

Please be advised of the following terms and conditions;

1) That by signing up for this Group, you accept that you take part entirely at your own risk.

Walking does entail risks of many kinds and particularly with regards to roads, cattle, and ground conditions in the countryside. You come and stay on these walks entirely of your own free will. If you leave the walk, that is fine but please let the host know. You must have suitable equipment eg walking shoes and/or boots with some grip.

2) Where as organisers are facilitating activities, he or she will not be held legally or otherwise responsible for any accidents or other mishaps during any walk. Outdoor activities are never without risks. " Those who take part consent to the Risk involved"

3) If you have any doubts about you abilities, health issues and/or fitness, the weather conditions or the terrain or the ground, you must discuss it with your Organiser before you sign up for the Walk.

4)We cannot stress more strongly health and safety are to us and don't want anyone to take chances with their health and become ill on a walk. If you join the walk, and have a health problem you MUST inform the walk host or other walkers.

5)Any accidents or injuries must be reported to the walk leader at the time, we really dont want you to take risks with your health knowing you have an issue. If you become ill on a walk the leader may advise you to leave the walk - if you dont take that advice dont try and blame us later if something goes wrong.

6)Events organised by other meet up groups on these pages are not the responsibility of this walking group and there is no responsibility or liability from us.

7)Make sure you have the proper clothing and footwear to cope with the seasonal changes and consummate with the conditions eg. walking boots... wet weather gear. Spare food & water, torch etc are always useful to carry :)

Happy walking smile
