The Western Jersey Wheelmen are again sponsoring the Flateau Century ride, this year’s ride is July 13. They hope that having a relatively flat route for a century will interest our club members to try a century, attract non-club cyclists to our club and to do the century, and act as an outreach to other area bike clubs. Of course, this will be a great preparation for the more challenging club century in October.

The century route is all on the Hunterdon Plateau, which as you know is flat, with just enough rollers and turns to make it interesting. The planned route has a 30 mile perimeter loop that will be done twice. The other two loops, a 25 mile inner perimeter, and an 16 mile center loop are done once and are pretty much on different roads. Most of the route is on rural roads.

Brunello’s Trattoria, 300 Old Croton Rd., Flemington, will be the starting point and each loop will pass the restaurant so riders can replenish their ride supplies. We will also pass convenience stores two or three times on each loop. The riders will never be too far away from the starting point and their cars, the farthest point is five miles.

Mark your calendars and talk to your bike buddies. Let's ride! More information: http://www.bikewjw.org/flateau-century-july-13-rain-date-july-14/
