STL Ecovillage Network Monthly Meeting

For our next Ecovillage Network meeting we'll start off with a presentation from a member who has visited an ecovillage recently (and if you'd like to present at any upcoming meetings, let us know!). Then we'll focus on ways to bring some of the benefits of ecovillages into our lives now -- before we necessarily have an ecovillage to call home. Using the World Cafe model for group conversations ( we will focus on the topics you identified at our last meeting: Urban Gardening, Shared Parenting, Asset Mapping, New Urbanism, Alternative Building Techniques, Social & Economic Sustainability, and Extended Family/Support Networks. You may find yourself "building community" in many different ways. We'll also discuss what you'd like to see on our upcoming North St. Louis tour, as well as other neighborhood tours. Hope to see you there.

I was really excited about finally meeting everyone, but I have too much to do tonight. Deanna, how are you, I haven't seen you in so long. I hope the world is treating you well. Alex is 12 now, where did the time go. I haven't talked to Ed is a long time either.

Hi Toshia, Children are welcome! We have a 19 mo boy but he won't be there because it conflicts with his bedtime. But for kids who go to bed later, that's fine. Looking forward to meeting you!

Oh, Schlafly...O.K. A few communiques' ago, I thought a choice of four venues was offered. I simple choose Richmond Hgts Center. I'd be happy to give Schlafly another go. Last time, a long time ago, we could not get in. But who knows, maybe that was just a quirk. Geepers, so long as I can get in and hear what folks are saying, I'll meet up anywhere. Happy Monday.

Marilyn, I think there's some confusion - this meetup is at the Schlafly Bottleworks in the Crown Room.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
