Plant trees and create a living memorial for a loved one (redux)

Details
Join Sustainable in St Louis and arborist Tony Zebrowski at 9am on Saturday, May 7th to plant a memorial tree for a loved one. Bring mom and plant a tree for Mother's Day! We have native trees of about 30 species for you to select from. The trees have been provided free of charge by grants from Forest Releaf and anonymous neighbors.
These plantings will add to the Shaw Memorial Forest where neighbors have planted about 250 trees over the past few years. The Shaw Memorial Forest is a significant addition to the natural habitat in south St. Louis and already provides homes and food to numerous species of song birds, small mammals and butterflies. What better place to memorialize the person you love?
Tony will advise us on proper planting techniques and general tree care and maintenance. After planting is complete we will raffle off additional trees and the winners can use their newly acquired skills to plant a free tree in their own gardens.
Location: 3866 DeTonty 63110
Park on 39th Street and walk over to the big grassy area on the other side of DeTonty Street.
Bring gloves, a hat and a water bottle. We will have a few shovels on hand but bring your own if you have one. This event is free.
