SURF permanent location opportunity

A fabulous permanent location for this group's Meetup meetings, SURF Incubator, and much more!

As you may recall, in November and December I was looking closely at a few suitable properties for SURF to have a permanent home. These were great offices for SURF, no doubt about it. But after the holidays, I resumed my search and recruited Washington Partners to scout for other alternatives. So far in January, I have toured 11 more locations and studied an additional 10 locations. The last space I toured was by far the best space yet and it has 15,000 square feet. It is fully built-out and includes all the furniture we would need. So, it is ready to move in as soon as we can secure a lease. Regretfully, this downtown location does not offer any free parking.

This week, I signed a letter of intent for this superb location.

Also, I have formed an informal board of advisors and our first meeting will be held this Friday.

If all goes well, we will be moving into the office between February 15th and March 1st.

Logically, in order to move forward and secure this opportunity, I need to have some early adopters. With a strong commitment from the community, I will be better positioned to negotiate the final details of the lease.

The next step is to have some SURF members submit to me their own simple non-binding letter of intent (email is fine).

For those who are ready to act, we are putting together some interesting opportunities with preferred rates.

And for these early adopters (charter members or early surfers), this will include free attendance to most (probably all) of the evening events. I plan to host at least 150 events in our first year.

4,000 dollars buys one dedicated full-time desk in a shared lockable office having 2 to 4 such desks. This offer is limited to 20 desks.

3,000 dollars buys one dedicated full-time desk in the open area for one year. This offer is limited to 30 desks.

1,700 dollars buys the part-time use of a desk in the open area for one year. This offer is limited to 50 desks.

100% satisfaction is guaranteed. This priority commitment is also fully transferable. A tour can be arranged for anyone who sends in a letter of intent. The individual commencement date is very flexible. These reduced prices reflect payment-in-full. Naturally, the pay-as-you-go rates will be higher.

Priority for desk selection (for the first two options above) will be based upon the order in which we receive the non-binding letters of intent.

If you like this idea but it does not fit your specific needs, you might consider the possibility of sponsoring one or more of these desk options. As a sponsor, you could provide this reservation to your own selected entrepreneur or programmer. Alternatively, you could choose from a list potential tenants seeking assistance (this list is yet to be created).

Once we have moved into the office, we will be holding an open house for at least two weeks. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or creative ideas.

Best Wishes,
