Hemant Mehta (born 1983) is an author (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Author), blogger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog), and atheist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheist) activist who gained fame for "selling his soul" on eBay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBay). Mehta is a regular speaker at atheist events and has sat on the boards of charitable organizations such as the Secular Student Alliance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_Student_Alliance) and the Foundation Beyond Belief. He also runs a blog on Patheos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patheos), Friendly Atheist, in which he posts multiple times a day.

We will be asking for a donation of $10 for this event to help cover the cost.

Hemant's topic will be what obstacles young atheists face and how it is changing for the better.

The UC Secular Student Alliance will also be attending and the will be sharing some of their stories with us.

This is our monthly meeting. Please note we are now meeting at Newport on the Levee and also at a new time 7:00pm.

We will be in the conference center at Newport on the Levee - Across from Gameworks on the Riverwalk level.

From the parking garage (by car): take the elevators with the glass trim located between H and I sections, near parking spot #4. Elevator to Riverwalk level. (Elevators posted as "Gallery, Cinema, Offices"). $2 to park in the garage.

From the 3rd street entrance (by foot): use the stairwell or elevator at the end of the hall to go up one floor to the Riverwalk Level.
