TriDroid - NC Triangle Android Meetup Pages

This group is for those interested in the Android platform. Android is Google's open source mobile OS, the basis for a number of newer smartphones and other mobile devices. Interests frequently include:

  • Getting started with Android application development
  • Talks and tutorials for developers and enthusiasts
  • Getting together to help each other hack on Android apps
  • Helping developers and employers find each other
  • Discussing Android devices, applications, carriers, context, etc.

All meetings are free of charge and open to the public (within the limits of venue size). At this time we have three types of meetups:

  • Monthly general interest meetup - every third Thursday at 7pm at RH HQ (if we can get it!). For anyone with any interest in Android.
  • Monthly developer meetup - every last Thursday at 7pm where we can find space (looking for regular venue). For software developers interested in working on Android or Android applications.
  • Hack nights - scheduled sporadically for developers in the mood to get together and hack on some code.

We welcome ideas for meetup topics as well as presenters. We've had a number of meetups already, so check those out for context, or some might be repeatable. Those who would like to present, please contact the organizer to get something scheduled.

In the interests of having membership reflect actual participation, members who are inactive for over three months will be removed from the meetup (of course, rejoining is trivial). Inactivity is measured by whether you've visited the meetup site; so check out the site occasionally, even if it's just to RSVP "no" so you won't get the nag emails. And remember if you can't physically show up, you can still participate in discussions on the site and mailing list.
