The Libertarian Party constitute the leading alternative to the Ds and Rs in North Carolina, striving to defend all your rights, all the time and to keep government out of your pocketbook and out of your bedroom.
The Triangle Libertarians meetup group is jointly sponsored by three county affiliate parties: the Durham County Libertarian Party, the Orange County Libertarian Party—both of whom meet monthly—and the Wake County Libertarian Party, who meet weekly. Most meetups are primarily social, but often there is a featured speaker or event; check the listings for details. Everyone is welcome to attend, encouraged to ask questions, learn…and teach!

Rules, regulations, and subsidies made by distant politicians and bureaucrats as a “one-size-fits-all” solution inevitably fail to account for unique individual needs and circumstances. Instead, these policies create a situation where people are forced into opposing interest groups constantly lobbying government for special treatment. We don’t think that there should be rules which reward some people at the expense of others.Libertarians don’t believe that anyone has the right to use force to achieve political ends. Our solutions are different because they support choice and opportunity equally. They are real because they foster the kind of voluntary, peaceful society that creates long term prosperity and happiness for everyone.
Our 2026 candidates for US Senate and House on the ballot in Wake County include Shannon Bray for US Senate, Matthew Laszacs (CD2), Guy Meilleur (CD4), and Steven Swinton (CD13). Topics likely to come up include education, health care, the economy and affordability, foreign policy in general and the Iran war in particular, and many more. And if you have a pertinent question or topic you’d like to see the candidates address, attend in person and you will get an opportunity to do exactly that! (Or you can post a comment here.)

PARKING
Clouds provides three hours of gratis parking in the Powerhouse Square Parking Deck behind the restaurant. Park and DO NOT PAY at the garage, but come in to the restaurant and scan the QR code displayed at the front desk and follow the directions. (You will need to enter your license plate number and you MUST do this within 15 minutes of parking to avoid being charged.) There are also several diagonal spaces on your right just before you enter the Parking Deck reserved for Clouds customers; if you snag one of those, you don’t need to bother with the QR code.1 attendee
