Eric Smith is Technology Director at EatingWell Media Group. He has been programming for more than 30 years and managing development projects since 1995.

Haskell is one of the simplest programming languages, as well as being one of the most advanced. Its spare syntax and coherent semantics make it ideal for understanding the concepts and features associated with functional programming. In this presentation, we will step through all of the core features of Haskell (and of functional programming) with a minimum of hand-waving and jargon. The goal is to help you better understand other Haskell tutorials and grok what lies at the heart of other functional languages.

Food

We're a small group, so we don't have a food budget; you're more than welcome to bring your own, and we plan to head into downtown Burlington for food and/or drinks following the talk.
