What we’re about
Food at our events is vegan but anyone interested in lowering their carbon footprint by eating more plant based meals, even if never planning to go fully vegan, is welcome. For safety reasons, we require members to use a real first name and face photo on their profile.
Meatless Meetup is run by a group of volunteer hosts who believe it to be of critical environmental importance that we drastically reduce our meat and dairy consumption. We recommend Earthsave Canada (https://www.earthsave.ca/) for information about the plant based diet.
There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with us, from collecting cash at restaurants to helping out at potlucks. If you want to meet more people at events, get in touch.
N.B. As last minute cancellations and no shows keep wait-listers out, harm our relationship with restaurants, and can even result in our volunteer hosts having to pay for others' meals, we require you to pay for your meal via e-transfer for set menu events if you no show or cancel without adequate notice. Repeated no shows will result in removal from the group.
Meatless Meetup aims to be a transparent, safe space for all. If you experience any form of harassment, please contact a host immediately.

************** - Organic Gluten-Free Dinner at Eternal AbundanceEternal Abundance Organic Market & Eatery, Vancouver, BC
Join us for a gluten-free, organic, comfort food dinner at Eternal Abundance, Vancouver's all-organic grocer and vegan café. EA prioritizes local and fair trade. All food is prepared in house, in small batches, in their gluten-free kitchen. The business is facing financial tough times, and now is the time to support them as they have supported the community for over two decades.
This is a pre-paid event. The cost, per person, is $30 (tax and tip included). We have two main options for this beautiful dinner!
Each guest will receive their choice of the following entrées (special features not usually on the menu), to be pre-ordered when you rsvp:
- Black Bean Tacos. Two tacos with tasty guacamole topped by savoury refried beans, roasted peppers, mushrooms and zucchini, cilantro sauce. Served on corn tortillas, with a side of cilantro-lime slaw. GF.
OR
- Yam & Black Bean Burger Platter. House-made GF bun, a savoury and mildly spicy patty of black beans, yams, coriander and paprika, mustard, house-made mayo, lettuce and tomato. Served with rosemary potato wedges, ketchup and a side caesar salad. GF.
Plus, a house-made ice cream dessert** (a new feature to the restaurant this year):
- Organic, low sugar, coconut-oat vanilla soft serve ice cream**. Made scratch in house with coconut whipping cream, oats, vanilla bean powder, and a touch of cane sugar. Topped with your choice of blueberry sauce, raspberry sauce, or salted dark chocolate sauce.
* Note: menu items may slightly change.
** While oats are naturally gluten-free, unless specified, they cannot be labelled as such due to possible cross-contamination with OTHER grains during processing. We cannot therefore guarantee the ice cream is 100% gluten-free.Within 12 hours of rsvp-ing "Yes", please send an e-transfer of $30 to alisoncole@telus.net , and indicate if you would like Option #1 (tacos) or #2 (burger). If payment is not received after registering, you will be removed but are welcome to re-register and pay if space remains. Refunds will be issued, minus a $2 processing fee, up to 24 hours before the event by emailing Alison. Alternatively, you are welcome to find someone to take your place.
In addition, guests will receive a coupon for 10% off any items in the grocery store, including fresh fruits and veggies, glass-packed superfoods, vegan gourmet cheeses, and much more. (applicable only for Aug 31st) Check out the store's website at www.eternalabundance.ca/market
REFUND POLICY: If you need to cancel your reservation, please email Alison at alisoncole@telus.net up to 24 hours before the event starts, and she will e-transfer you a full refund minus a $2 processing fee. No refunds will be issued less than 24 hours before the event, but you are welcome to find someone to take your place.
N.B. If your e-transfer is sent from a different name from your Meetup name, email to let Alison know so she can confirm your payment.**************
