Anyone interested in kayaking western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Any type of kayaking, sea, recreational, white water.
Disclaimer: Kayaking can be a dangerous sport. Many rivers in Massachusetts run fast and have rapids. Its up to the individual kayaker to know the river conditions and their own skill level and chose trips that are safe and suitable for their level of skill.
All kayakers are required to bring and use a well fitted PFD with attached whistle. A pump is also highly recommended. The member's kayak shall be suitable to the member and the water conditions at the time.
Young children are discouraged from kayaking the rivers as they can be dangerous. Kayakers should be comfortable in the water and know how to swim to safety. Also kayakers should know how to right their boat and reenter it in the event of a water exit.
