Inviting Awareness - An Introduction
An informational invitation to a three-day course at Crow’s Nest, The Arndt summer home on Orr’s Island, Maine, July 9 – 12, 2015
with Evan Root
Inviting awareness into our lives can be a profound benediction for ourselves and for our relationships. We often miss this opportunity due to opinions and beliefs that get in the way and seem to separate us. The way our psyche has developed, this is part of the human condition, and we all have conditioning of this kind.
In personal terms, Inviting Awareness is a three-day course focused on discovering freedom from our conditioning, and opening up to new possibilities in ourselves and in our relationships. In evolutionary terms, it is about humanity (that’s us) taking its natural next step.
“For this introductory evening, my purpose is to impart to you whatever you need to know regarding our upcoming course for you to determine if you choose to attend. I also intend that the evening, in and of itself, be of value.” – Evan Root
Bio
Evan Root moved to Boston in the mid 1960s to help the Kushis establish the Macrobiotic movement. With them he opened the Erewhon food store, followed by a restaurant. He then lived in Japan for several years, studying the language and culture before returning to Boston and posts at the businesses he had helped to start.
In 1981, a shift in consciousness awakened a new focus for his life. “It was like a homecoming. With that, I knew I would gladly give my life to making this simple fact - we are one inseparable life - known at deeper levels and wider reaches. My life’s work had found me.”
He has held courses and classes introducing and exploring simple awareness and the inherent openings, realizations, and possibilities that follow. In 1993, he founded an educational initiative, Kindling Point, to foster awareness of the non-separate nature of life and support the unfolding of human potential. He has worked as a facilitator, trainer and coach with individuals, small and large groups, prison inmates, large and small corporations, governmental departments, and nonprofit organizations.
