Announcing a new Meetup for The World Food Lover's Dining Out Group!

What: Peruvian in Jackson Heights

When: Wednesday, February 3,[masked]:30 PM

Price: $10.00 per person

This will be a Peruvian meal at Urubamba, served family-style, with menu arranged by your event organizer. Peruvian cooking is distinguished by its diversity of cultural influences, including Incan, Spanish, Far East Asian and African. Peppers, often used in the wide array of sauces found in this cuisine, are applied discriminately, enhancing without overpowering.

Total cost of food will run ~$30 per person. Drinks are extra, but feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages; there is a $5 corking fee per bottle of wine. Please reserve your spot with a non-refundable $10 PayPal deposit, which will be credited to your dining tab.

The restaurant is a 5-10 minute walk from the 82nd St-Jackson Heights or 90th St-Elmhurst Ave stops on the 7 line.

*ceviche mixto (fish, calamari, octopus, shrimps)
*yuquita fritas (deep fried cassava sticks with Peruvian sauce)
*anticuchos (grilled veal heart)
*rachi (grilled bible tripe)
*spicy onion salad
*seco de cabrito con frijoles (lamb stew in aji panca sauce with beans)
*aji de gallina (shredded fowl meat in a heavy cream aji amarilla sauce)

Traditional beverage offerings include
*chicha morada (juice from Peruvian purple corn, pineapple and lime)
*chicha de jora (ancient Incan beverage made with Peruvian corn and barley)
