Astonishing music from the heart of Siberia

Alash are masters of Tuvan throat singing, a remarkable technique for singing multiple notes at the same time. Masters of traditional Tuvan instruments as well as the art of throat singing, Alash are deeply committed to their roots in traditional Tuvan music and culture. At the same time, they believe that traditional music must constantly evolve; by subtly infusing their songs with new elements, some original, some taken from Western music, the musicians of Alash create their own unique style that is fresh and new, yet true to their Tuvan musical heritage. Currently on tour in Europe, this is a rare opportunity to see this band at SOAS!
