For our next concert at St Ethelburga's we are hosting a FUNDRAISING CONCERT FOR AKANY AVOKO ORPHANAGE in MADAGASCAR.

with Nogabe Randriaharimalala  and his band

Nogabe Randriaharimalala was born in Madagascar, and played various instruments from a young age, drawing on his Malagasy background and culture. His natural deep voice and charisma make Nogabe a remarkable musician.
He spent many years in Asia where he recorded his first 2 albums with musicians from different countries and musical backgrounds.

Nogabe plays finger pickings Malagasy guitar style and sings original songs in Malagasy. Nogabe has just moved to London and started a new band with African London based musicians and is currently working on his 5th Album.

A GOOD CAUSE: This event will raise funds for the extraordinary and heart-warming work of Akany Avoko. Located near to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, Akany Avoko is a home dedicated to caring for destitute children and young people. Akany Avoko provides a refuge for those who have been abandoned, orphaned, made homeless or suffered extreme poverty and abuse. Akany Avoko offers them food, education, medical care and a safe, nurturing environment until they are able to rejoin the community. Without Akany Avoko these children would otherwise, have nowhere else to go. There will be opportunities on the night to learn more about the work of Akany Avoko, to sponsor a child, to become a regular donor and to support Akany Avoko in continuing to change young lives in Madagascar.

FOOD: The menu for this special fundraising event is being exclusively prepared by Mad-Flavour the UKs leading Malagasy caterers. Blending traditional recipes with herbs and spices direct from Madagascar with the freshest of ingredients, these unique flavours will only be matched by the amazing music and atmosphere of this very special evening of music, food and dance.
