"The truest expression of a people is in its dances and in its music"
From traditional ethnic music to foreign language pop music, the phrase "World Music" covers a lot of ground. From Reggae to Ragas, Celtic to Klezmer, Salsa to Paris Cafe, world music pretty much encompasses everything that doesn't fit comfortably into an typical 'Top 40' pop chart.
All in all, world music is considered just plain music to the vast majority of people in the world. Music is universal, and to discover the music of a culture is to discover the culture as a whole.

Tangled Blues Festival near Bath
radford Mill farm, Nr Timsbury/Paulton Bath,, BA2 0QF, GBThe Radford Mill TANGLED BLUES Festival is a celebration of the Blues in all its forms, from raw Delta sounds to electric grooves. Also known as Tangled Up In Blues, with a nod to Bob Dylan’s song “Tangled Up In Blue”, the festival brings together carefully selected local, national and international artists for an unforgettable weekend of soulful live performance.
As well as artists performances the festival encourages participation with open stage spots and campfire sessions late into the night. Bring your instrument and your voice (acoustic only around the campfire – no amps and no drums is how we love it). The festival is intended to be a small scale and intimate affair, and ticket numbers will be limited to a maximum of 500 (will be smaller than that!).
The festival takes place in the beautiful grounds of Radford Mill Farm on the edge of Timsbury, south west of the City of Bath. The festival grounds are bisected by the Cam Brook and have been landscaped to include a small amphitheatre area, fire pit and many lovely spots for enchanting and memorable experiences. The food on site is served from one kitchen and is delicious.
There are several camping areas on site, just a short stroll from the main arena and the car park. Each camping field has running water and compost toilets. This is a festival that values quality over quantity and provides a beautiful experience for those lucky enough to have discovered us. Please tell your friends about us. Children under the age of 16 can attend free of charge. Well-behaved dogs are permitted (as long as you leave no mess).
Take the coach from Victoria or take the train from Paddington to Bath Spa. From there it's a taxi ride... or if you communicate your arrival time then we can try to share rides or even arrange a pick-up.
Tickets are available on the Tangled Roots Festival website (Tangled Roots is a sister festival). Get a festival ticket (£60 for the whole weekend) and a camping ticket (less than £30 for two nights.) Prices are very reasonable...
Bring: a tent, sleeping bag, musical instrument if you play, yoga mat...
