Have you ever thought about getting involved in open source software (OSS)? Are you already involved? Or perhaps you wonder why anyone would bother?

In this talk we'll discover what makes OSS tick, how it benefits us as developers and just how easy it is to get involved. As well as plenty of live coding (and perhaps a contribution or two) we'll take a look at how and why I made my own journey from OSS onlooker to addict.

OSS is not just about coding and I'll be demonstrating plenty of other ways to contribute, so even if you're not a coder, this talk is still for you.

Bio:

Adam Ralph is a line of business developer by day and an open source addict by night.

He manages several popular open source .NET projects including FakeItEasy, xBehave.net, ConfigR, Bau, ScriptCs.Nancy, LiteGuard and StyleCop.MSBuild. He has lost count of the open source projects he has contributed to but they include scriptcs, NancyFX, NuGet, JabbR, Autofac and ServiceStack.

Adam is heavily involved in the scriptcs project, both as contributor and consumer. He has authored several projects based on scriptcs and appeared in 'Applied ScriptCS with Block, Rusbatch and Ralph' on the .NET Rocks show, recorded at NDC London 2013.

His mission is to spread his love of open source to the world and he has a dream that one day all developers will be proud open source contributors.
