Implementation of Accessibility Standards : The Project Management Point of View

Taking the accessibility standards into account is as much a question of methodology as it is a technical question.

Making accessibility standards a natural part of the web project cycle is the key to make applications accessible in the long term.

• How to make the WCAG easy to understand by each of the key project stakeholders (designer, front-end developer, project manager, webmaster....)?

• How to maintain accessibility throughout the life cycle of a web site ?

• How to make sure that all web projects take accessibility into account without providing assistance to all the teams ?

In France, since 2005, public and private companies have been working to set up tools and to define internal processes to answer these questions.

In this presentation, our speaker, Sylvie Goldfain, will present key points of those strategies, including collaborative initiatives led by those companies to create a11y tools management and improve the commitment of their internal staff and suppliers.
