Hi welcome to Social Activities. We do all sorts of activities that include kayaking, camping, hiking, nature walks, photography, biking, scuba diving, snorkeling, cooking events, BBQ's, poker nights, and just about anything to do with socializing.

So, if you are new in town or just want to meet fun and adventurous people this group is for you.

This meetup group has a "no-flake policy": if you RSVP and don't show up, you will be banned from the group at the discretion of the organizers: no questions asked. Our organizers spend time out of their busy schedules to plan great events for our members. For those who just flake outright, it's pitiful, disrespectful, unprofessional, and utterly lame.

With that being said, come join us. You won't regret it.

Want to help create one of the most welcoming LGBTQ+ community gatherings in San Diego? Join us for a casual meetup to learn how you can get involved behind the scenes with The Big Gay Picnic.
The Big Gay Picnic is a free monthly community potluck in Balboa Park where people come together to meet new friends, share food, play games, and celebrate community in a relaxed outdoor setting. Everyone is welcome—whether you come solo or with friends.
But events like this don’t happen by magic… they happen because of awesome volunteers like you.

The date listed for this Meetup is not a volunteer shift and no event will take place on that date.
This event is simply to recruit and connect with people interested in volunteering for the Big Gay Picnic.
Actual volunteer opportunities will take place on the dates when the Big Gay Picnic events happen, and volunteers will be contacted with those details after signing up.

**RSVP REQUIRED** FULL MOON POTLUCK PICNIC BONFIRE! 60s rock dancing music! Bit of Karaoke! Our 12 YEAR San Diego Tradition!

**RSVP here with YOUR true face picture and real first name on profile! New friends coming from 3 other groups! ALL MUST state specific GOOD FOOD you bring to attend POTLUCK BONFIRE!** No attendance without it! NO ALCOHOL!

Friday May 22nd, 4PM to 9 PM. Bring GOOD potluck food, cases of sodas, case of water, maybe lawn games and some dry FIREWOOD!

Grab your beach chairs, GOOD potluck food to share and utensil for it, some cold sodas, a jacket in your car, and some dry firewood greatly appreciated! ( no pallets unless broken up) BRING 2 BEACH CHAIRS! Please bring some dry firewood logs if you possibly can! Or go behind Home Depot and fill trunk with piled scrap wood there! For OUR BONFIRE!

Main courses or big entrees are best for this potluck group, bring
something GOOD that YOU would like to eat, so then you know it will be there. Pre-cooked food, unless you also bring a BBQ and fuel to cook your food, or post a comment here that you will be bringing meat to BBQ!
If you need ideas, plan something YOU like or stop by Costco and pickup a party tray or their spiral turkey sandwiches, chicken tenders, etc. Or bring large fresh pizzas! Or cases of sodas! Please bring some dry firewood logs if you possibly can!

NO ALCOHOL (or glass) is allowed on City beaches, they might sometime come around and check. They DID drive by twice last year. Don't risk it. NO ALCOHOL!

**ALL are Required to RSVP here and show YOUR true face picture and real first name on your profile here, ALL MUST state what specific GOOD FOOD you bring to attend BONFIRE!**

Look for our Red STAR mylar balloon hung from our orange beach umbrella by West-most double picnic tables, and our three lanterns on double picnic tables after dark. Many of us will be around the closest fire ring later on in the evening.

Coming North on HIghway-5 take Clairemont Dr off ramp and turn West, crossing 5 and then turn right onto E Mission Bay Dr. Go to De Anza Rd.
Coming South on H-5 you may take Balboa/Mission Bay Dr off ramp( or if very heavy traffic at Balboa ramp just continue South on 5 to Clairemont Dr turn off ), proceed straight on Mission Bay Dr thru six stoplights before taking sharp right turn from right lane just before entering 5 South again, West into N Mission Bay Dr, turn right at stop sign and go North to De Anza Rd.
IF you miss that sharp right turn and end up on Highway-5 South, you can still take the next off ramp Clairemont Dr and get on E Mission Bay Dr going North along there to De Anza Rd.
