What we're about

Hi welcome to Social Activities. We do all sorts of activities that include kayaking, camping, hiking, nature walks, photography, biking, scuba diving, snorkeling, cooking events, BBQ's, poker nights, and just about anything to do with socializing.

So, if you are new in town or just want to meet fun and adventurous people this group is for you.

Please complete your introduction. If you are ONLY interested in DATING or ?, please join a different group.

This meetup group has a "no-flake policy": if you RSVP and don't show up, you will be banned from the group at the discretion of the organizers: no questions asked. Our organizers spend time out of their busy schedules to plan great events for our members. For those who just flake outright, it's pitiful, disrespectful, unprofessional, and utterly lame.

With that being said, come join us. You won't regret it.

Free Intro to Improv Workshop - Liberty Station

2590 Truxtun Rd

Improv is a fun way to develop quicker reflexes, build confidence, foster creativity, and increase spontaneity - not to mention connect with other fun loving people! Above all, improv is really FUN.

In this introduction to improv workshop we'll play some games, laugh a lot, and uncover some of the reasons that people of all ages are falling in love with improv. The games we'll play will be easy and fun exercises to explore saying yes to each other and ourselves, and practice getting out of heads and into our playful selves.

NEEDED - an openness to trying new things, an excitement for being silly with others, and the courage to step out of your comfort zone. You do NOT need to have any prior experience in improv to join this event. You do not need to be a funny person, a natural performer, have a quick wit, etc. Improv is about connecting and listening and embracing creativity. If you can learn how to do these things, than improv is right for you!

PLEASE RSVP - the number of participants is limited, so please RSVP only if you plan to attend. If something comes up, please change your RSVP to allow others to join. Thanks!

FREE - normally this is a paid workshop, but this event is FREE for our group! You are encouraged (but not required) to contribute a small amount at the end of the workshop. If you have fun, $5 is appreciated. If you have a super fantastic time, $10 is appreciated. These contributions help us keep offering these events!

PARKING - We are right next to a large parking lot. There is also street parking.

Beginner LINE DANCING & Country Swing - ALESMITH Brewing in Kearney Mesa

AleSmith Brewing Company

Howdy! Come on out and learn some line dancing (& a little country swing) with a great group of beginners...alongside Philip Victor (aka BootScootin), a nationally renowned instructor & emcee.

Country Mondays for Beginners began about 19 months back. They are fun, positive, and productive...which is why they keep growing every week. The vast majority of the group are beginner level and every week we welcome people learning to line dance for the first time.

Typically, 4-6 lessons are taught between 6p-9p..we'll also be doing a brief Country Swing or partner line dance lesson to learn fundamental partner dancing moves. In between lessons, people request other line dances and some partner dancing songs...many of which are beginner/improver level, for the first couple hours.

There should be a delicious food truck available (Zoe's) for food purchases. They are also offering drink specials, among an amazing assortment of beverage offerings.

Kids & teens can come with guardians to dance and enjoy.
There is NO cover. Gratuities to the instructor are appreciated.

Floor is concrete, so bring shoes/boots that are a little more slick-soled (leather or felt) so it is easier to turn....feel free to bring a couple options. There will also be dance socks available for purchase.

Msg me with any questions. :)

Feel free to brush up on some dances at my IG @_bootscootin or Youtube.com/c/bootscootin ....I have over 200 tutorials + demos.
