The recently established Kirvell Province is the latest arm of Menegerie's continent to be clawed back from the Paintscape demons of old. Many come to fill the ranks of Adem Korkovs armies to fight back the demon plague, and many still seek their fortunes in this unexplored land, to uncover the mysteries of the past, and learn dark secrets buried throughout the centuries. For these glory seeking fools, Adem has established the Adventurers Guild where the people of the realm can petition adventures to explore the untamed wilds of the province. Before one can work in the guild however, one must prove themselves by overcoming the Hero's Trial. Through reasons of your own, your group has banded together to face the Hero's Trial and begin your careers as Adventure's. Where the story goes after that, is in your hands.
This is a homebrew hexcrawler sandbox campaign where the players can choose or make their own quests and carve their story into the annuls of history. This campaign takes place in the same cosmology as the Forgotten Realms, but in a different crystal sphere which was locked away a thousand years ago after a great cataclysm open the world to the demon hoards. The Outer Planes are little more than a folktale in the current timeline, and the gods no longer grant spells to their clerics. Only one god rules above all, a mysterious entity known as The Night Mother, the Shepard of the Cycle, who watches over the cycle of reincarnation and protects the world from those who seek to destroy it. When the old gods abandoned their charge, the Night Mother rose up to protect the people and deliver them to salvation. Though her teachings have been reinterpreted throughout the centuries, the various sects of the church remain unified in their goal to push the boundaries of knowledge and improve the state of living for all who live in this world.

Restrictions
Characters are generated through Point Buy
The Outer Planes have been cut off for centuries. Though Outer Plane races are allowed, the character can not come from, or have spent time in, any Outer Plane.
Any cleric domain is available under the Night Mother, but worshiping any other god will not grant spells. A character can still worship the
Forgotten Realms pantheon, but it will not grant them magic.
Souls no longer go to the Outer Plains, but are reincarnated into new bodies upon death. To this end, resurrection effects do not revive the character, but reincarnate them into a new body as by the reincarnate spell.
Multiclassing by level progression is forbidden. It is possible through questing a character can unlock the ability to multiclass
The campaign is a hexcrawler, and thus finding food and water is critical to the experience. To that end, the spell Goodberry does not provide a full days nourishment, and the Outlander background is banned. These features eliminate a critical part of the game for little to no cost, and take away from the experience of a hexcrawl. Other features like these the player wishes to obtain must be cleared by the GM.
Please avoid joke characters
Features
Quest Based Progression: Quest rewards are more than just gaining levels, and will provide bonuses beyond the leveling system. You want your character to have other racial features? Get proficiencies with tools/weapons/armor/languages? Work with the DM and its likely that reward will end up in a quest somewhere in the world.
Factions: There are more forces than just the church and the army at play. Getting allied with these factions allows players to call upon them for favors and information, but beware that factions will also ask for help as part of this relationship.
Hex Based Exploration: Explore the world hex by hex and discover the ancient wonders of the previous ages of history.
