For a while now we've really outgrown the space at Misys. They Misys team has been great to work with and they've supported us, and helped us move forward. Let say again, THANK YOU! You guys rock.
However, between the scheduling, vending machines, and lack of equipment in the room, we've needed something a bit more prepared for meetings. A number of people have stepped up and offered, but I think iContact is the place we'll be moving to.
For some of you, this will be a further trip. Their building is near the 54/55 intersection in Durham, but it's very close to I40. Let me know if this will be a show stopper for anyone, but I'm hoping that a more central RTP location will help us grow the group and attract even more local software professionals.
Here's the iContact address:
2635 Meridian Parkway, Suite 200 Durham NC 27713
Here's a map link:http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2635+Meridian+Parkway,+Suite+200+Durham+NC+27713+&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=2635+Meridian+Pkwy,+Durham,+North+Carolina+27713&t=h&z=16
I'm also changing the next meeting. David has graciously offered to let Bob speak next month, and I'm rescheduling David for the first meeting of the new year.
I also want to create a leadership committee. My schedule has been insane in the last year, and depending on the job I end up landing, it could get better, or it could get much worse. :) We need more than one person who can set up and run meetings without me having to scramble the afternoon of a meeting.
If you're interested in getting involved, please drop me an email (off list). So far we've had Bob Galen and Jeff Barschaw offer to help.
This group has grown incredibly over the last few years, but we've only reached a tiny fraction of the software professionals working in the RTP area. If you'd like to help expand our reach, and influence the way our industry creates software, let me know!
ps I'm sending this to both the Yahoo list and the Meetup list. I apologize for those of you who get two copies.
