Hmm, the weather prognosticators changed their story Friday morning and are only predicting a 30% chance of snow on Sunday, down from 60% earlier in the week. So let's shake out and go for a walk around Old Town!

The route: Starting from the sidewalk in front of Teaism at 628 St Asaph, we'll make a big counter-clockwise circuit of Old Town. We'll cross under the railroad tracks at Braddock Road, head southwest to check out where Fort Ellsworth once stood, enjoy a panoramic view of Old Town from in front of the Masonic Temple, and then work our way to the waterfront along Wilkes Street. At the waterfront, we'll turn north and follow the shoreline to Founders Park, with a short break at the Torpedo Factory. From Founders Park we'll walk west along Oronoco St to St Asaph St, turn right, and return to our starting point.

The walk is an easy 5 miles of smiles and should take about 2 hours. The surface is paved throughout, with inclines here and there and steps in places.

How to get there: From Highway 1 (either direction), turn east on Wythe Street (left if you're southbound; right if you're northbound) and drive 3-4 blocks to St. Asaph Street. Turn right, and Teaism is hallway down the block on the right. There is free parallel parking on Sunday all around the adjoining streets.

What to bring: Water, comfy shoes, and your furry friend if desired (leashes, please). The forecast is a high of 47 degrees and a 30% chance of snow, so dress appropriately. As a reminder, this is a kids-free zone, no one under 18 years of age is permitted.

Administrative stuff: There are restrooms and drinking fountains at the Torpedo Factory along our way. Before the walk, there are restrooms and hot beverages at Teaism, or at Starbuck's around the corner (please see the Google map).
