Abstract: Ataul Munim presents The Times and Sunday Times Android app, demonstrating what considerations have been made to make the product more usable for vision impaired readers. He'll cover the small but important details that you can implement in your own app to better support a wider range of users.

Speaker: Ataul Munim

A giant process nerd, Ataul has recently been focused on advocating for accessibility on Android and identifying workflows to facilitate the production of universally useable apps.

Abstract: The “key to moving toward a future of ubiquitous and unobtrusive computing? To accept that future breakthroughs are going to be practically invisible.” – Harry Shum, Executive Vice President of Microsoft Technology and Research. The future of machine learning will be invisible; it will exist, you will use machine learning in your everyday lives, and you wouldn’t even know it. Now is a good time to start integrating amazing machine learning features into your applications, as they become integral to our society. In this talk, you will be introduced to the Project Oxford APIs and see how you can use them to transform your application. This is about the power of machine learning and computer vision at the end of an API call.

Speaker: Lilian Kasem

Lilian works within Developer Experience (DX) as a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft. She is a Computer Science graduate, a huge tech enthusiast and IoT hobbyist. The technology areas that Lilian mainly focuses on are: More Personal Computing, Project Oxford APIs, and cross platform development using cloud services.
