Announcing a new meeting for United Animal Advocates of LA!
What: Make Super Tuesday Feb. 5th A Super One for Farm Animals!
When: Tuesday, February 5, 7:00 PM
Where: (A location for this meeting hasn't been chosen yet)
Who should come: Signature gatherers, please spend some time at a poll near you to gather signatures. This day is crucial! Be sure to be at least 100 feet away from the poll doors per anti-electioneering rules.
Why: Because you won't have to ask the people if they're registered to vote since they'll be there to vote anyway!
Meeting Description: CALLING ALL SIGNATURE GATHERERS FOR ELECTION DAY FEBRUARY 5TH!!! Get those voters on the way in or the way out, but get 'em to sign your petition - just make sure you're 100 feet away from the poll doors!!
DON'T FORGET - MAKE SUPER TUESDAY SUPER FOR THE ANIMALS!! As you may know we have a lot of catching up to do to get sufficient numbers of valid signatures and we're hoping Tuesday will help us with that. Tuesday, February 5 is a great and easy opportunity for us to collect lots of signatures from registered voters. If you can help work the polls, please contact your regional coordinator, listed at www.humanelosangeles.com. We are in need of volunteers to work the polls either all day, in the morning (7am - 11am), during lunch (11am - 2 pm) or in the evening (4pm - 8 pm). If you can't work one of these shifts, can you spare 2 hours before or after you vote? Even if you can spare 2 hours at your own polling location, please let us know. There will be a record turn out this primary and if you haven't yet had a chance to get your signatures, this is your opportunity! The animals need this day to really bump up our numbers! More people are currently needed in Burbank, the San Fernando Valley, and Santa Clarita. Please make sure to maintain a distance of at least 100 feet away from the doors of the polling room while gathering signatures. This is important!!
If you need information about the campaign, please visit HumaneCalifornia.org for information on materials, volunteering, tips and suggestions and fact sheets. For motivation, check out the short video about the campaign and our signature gathering efforts. It's a must-see, inspirational piece. This is your chance to be part of history.
TIME IS TICKING - THE ANIMALS NEED YOUR HELP RIGHT NOW! In 2000 in the state of Washington, an initiative almost didn?t make it. The proponents were told they had missed making the ballot because they didn?t have enough signatures. They asked for a recount. Two grueling months passed, but they were then told the great news. They had made the ballot by just 900 signatures. Voters later passed this initiative, meaning that just 900 signatures helped save animals from cruel and indiscriminate trapping in Washington State. In that campaign, there were 60 volunteers who gathered over 900 signatures. If just one of them had decided not to participate, if just one of them had decided to slack off, if just one of them decided to stop collecting or not send in their signatures in time, this trapping initiative would not have made the ballot!
