UPDATE: FREE TICKET option available (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/osamu-tezuka-god-of-manga-animechicago-symposium-series-tickets-19354298227)

Due to the generosity of Cards Against Humanity, our venue sponsor, we can now offer tickets for free!

Join AnimeChicago at the Cards Against Humanity Theater for an afternoon dedicated to the life and work of Osamu Tezuka, God of Manga. Tezuka, creator of Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion, among many others, is widely credited with making anime what it is today. His works have influenced such luminaries as Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away) and Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball).

The event will feature different presentations of his work, including talks by Ada Palmer (http://adapalmer.com/) (author of TezukaInEnglish.com (http://tezukainenglish.com/)) and Natsu Onoda Power (http://berkleycenter.georgetown.edu/people/natsu-onoda-power) (author of God of Comics (http://www.amazon.com/God-Comics-Creation-Post-World-Artists-ebook/dp/B002RT8AAO/)), two of the foremost Tezuka scholars working in the English language. Stick around for rare cuts of some of Tezuka’s greatest works, a museum display stocked with peculiar memorabilia, and afterparty mixer with craft beers provided by the Logan Brewlevard Society.

Donating 15 dollars comes with an extra raffle ticket for some great prizes from our sponsors, so please consider making a donation with your reservation. Seats are limited, so get yours in advance!
