Bay Area Anything Active Pages

This is a list of non-meetup, active things in the Bay Area. It's intended as a helpful resource to you all. Feel free to add to it. I'm sure there are a ton of things happening in the Bay Area and I can't possibly know of them all. Relying on the power of crowdsourcing here :)

The East Bay Parks Regional District offers a ton of activities from hikes, kayaking, fishing, etc. Most hikes are free and no registration is required. Some events (like kayaking, boating, etc.) are not free and advanced registration is required.

The good folks behind the Golden Gate National Recreation Area organize fun events from Fort Funston to Fort Baker, from Alcatraz to Muir Woods. http://parksconservan...

The San Francisco City Guides offer free walking tours around the City. I heard only really really really good things. Their calendar is packed with dozens of walks each month. http://www.sfcityguid...

The Chabot Space Center has really fun evening hikes about twice a month. They sell out fast, so book in advance. http://www.chabotspac...

The Berkeley Path Wanderers Association organizes great walks and hikes exploring urban paths and staircases in Berkeley and beyond. Walks are free for members and non-members alike. http://berkeleypaths....

The good folks of the Oakland Urban Paths, do the same except that they stick to (you guessed it) Oakland. http://www.oaklandurb...

The El Cerrito Trail Trekkers also organize some great hikes: http://ectrailtrekker...

The Friends of Mt Tam organize fun hikes and astronomy nights (!) exploring this great park, itself a star of the Bay Area. http://www.friendsofm...

Its East Bay counterpart, Mt Diablo is well-loved by the Mt Diablo Interpretive Association. Their weekend calendar is packed with wildflower hikes, astronomy nights, bird watching, and, come Fall, their famous tarantula hikes. http://www.mdia.org/s...

The Greenbelt Alliance also has fun hikes and events all over the Bay Area.
