Monday Berkeley staircase hike with secret waterfall

Let's go on another urban hike in the Berkeley Hills. The route will take us to the site of a (not so) secret waterfall. I can't promise it will have any running water, but the site is pretty either way. The waterfall is on private property. There are well-established trails on the property and word has it that the owner doesn't mind polite trespassers. I am keeping the meetup group small for this exact reason.

Please note - this is not a dinner hike. Sorry, no time to stop for a long break.

Hike: ~2hrs, ~3mi, ~800ft elevation gain, tons of stairs.

It's an urban hike - meaning that most of the route is on paved paths and streets, through real neighborhoods. The paths in the hills are steep and have LOTS of back-to-back staircases. If you hate taking the stairs when the escalator is out, this hike is not for you. That being said, we tend to go slower than most exercise meetup groups so we can enjoy the scenery and the conversation. So if you're a fast hiker, this hike may not be for you, either. There is no marked trail to follow. You can't just run ahead and meet us later... Today's hike is a combination of the orange and blue routes.

Bring - water for you and your dog if (s)he's coming, layers, comfy shoes, headlamp/flashlight/flashlight app, snacks to fuel up as we go if you want.

Restrooms - there are no restrooms at the meeting point or anywhere else along our route. Sorry, plan accordingly.

Dogs - you can bring dogs, but please keep Fido on leash at all times, not everyone in the group is comfortable around dogs. Plus this is an urban hike - I'd worry about the dog taking off into the street.

Kids - you can always bring kids on my hikes. I trust that you read the event description and can tell whether this would be a fun experience for them.

Attendance Note - if you sign up to attend, you will be counted on to show up. So please keep your RSVP up to date to reflect your intentions to join us. All members who do not show up will be recorded as a NO SHOW in the system. Members with 3 or more No Shows will be removed from the group.

We will meet at Euclid and Eunice Ave. Free street parking available in the neighborhood. Please be on time. We only wait a few minutes past the start time.
