Abstract

Enabling Container and VM Based Applications at Scale with Security and Networking Solutions

Container based applications are rapidly moving from development to production. However, enterprises face several challenges in this transition. Some of the major ones are in the areas of networking, security, and manageability of large-scale environments. Solving these challenges successfully can enable Application architects to optimize environments for Performance and Security. SDN techniques that can provide the ability to set up Secure Container, VM and Hybrid (Containers and VMs) environments at Scale are essential for this.

In this session we will describe and demo a unique solution that enables software defined environments for Web facing applications.

DevOps at Bancvue Panel

Abstract

Did you know that Bancvue hosts the Agile Austin DevOps SIG? Did you know they use Puppet and Jenkins extensively? Did you know that Jeff's recommendation of Kanban to W2O was a huge step forward?

Bancvue quietly practices an extremely effective DevOps paradigm and are coming with several skill sets to share that experience.

Jeff Adams of Bancvue has been kind enough to offer up people at all levels of Bancvue to provide a look into how they practice DevOps. His goal is an interactive session where you can ask questions and get answers.

Here is a list of some of the tech they are using:

• Java, Php, and .Net - monolith and microservice applications

• Debian and Windows

• Puppet - CM

• Rundeck - orchestration

• Sensu - monitoring/metrics collection

• Flapjack - alerting

• Graphite - metrics storage

• Grafana/Tessera - visualization

• Openstack (heat/nova/nova network/ceph)

• KVM/Vmware/OpenVZ

• Splunk - logging

• Stash - git

• Jira - issue tracking

• Sonatype - artifact repo

• Jenkins - continuous integration

BIos:

The panel will consist of ops, architects, developers and senior leadership!
