Announcing a new Meetup for Baltimore PHP!What
: Wordpress 3.0 with Andrew NacinWhen

7070 Samuel Morse Dr
Columbia, MD 21046
It took less than six weeks after its release in June for WordPress 3.0 to reach 10 million downloads. What makes this platform so popular for users and developers alike? This talk will focus on how to leverage what 3.0 brought to the table -- powerful CMS capabilities in one hand, and blog networks in the other -- and a look at what's next for the increasingly powerful platform. We'll also tackle common perception issues -- starting with security -- that may be important factors in choosing WordPress for a project.
Andrew Nacin is a core developer of WordPress and an independent consultant based in DC. As a member of the core team, he wrangles contributions, develops new features, and tries to fix more bugs than he creates. Nacin is also the technical editor of an upcoming book on WordPress plugin development from Wiley/Wrox. He blogs at http://andrewnacin.com
and tweets at @nacin
. He prefers decisions over options.
The meeting starts at 6:30, and we'll get on the code review around 7:00. 6:30 - 7:00 is reserved for chit chat, socializing, and pizza destroying.
We are meeting in our normal location, at our normal time. Pizza and soda are provided by OmniTI (Thank you!). Come hungry with your PHP hats on. Bring a friend that's interested in PHP or someone looking to learn more. The more the merrier.
We?ll continued our conversation at PubDog in Columbia for a few drinks afterwards.
