Announcing a new Meetup for Baltimore PHP!

What: Refactoring w/ Xdebug, KCacheGrind, PhpUnit and the Kitchen Sink with Owen Byrne

When: Wednesday, October 20,[masked]:30 PM

Where: OmniTI
7070 Samuel Morse Dr
Columbia, MD 21046
[masked]

Suddenly faced with 50k lines of legacy PHP including this one?
ini_set(max_memory_size,[masked]M);
Owen will talk about strategies and tools for dealing with difficult old code.

Owen Byrne is best-known as co-founder and original developer of Digg.com, but has worked for 25 years in software and IT. More recently he was a big part of the team that developed Tripadvisor.com's flight meta-search to compete with Kayak.com. He's currently VP Engineering at rentwiki.com, where he tries not to be old and difficult.

We are meeting in our normal location, at our normal time. Pizza and soda are provided by OmniTI (Thank you!). Come hungry with your PHP hats on. Bring a friend that's interested in PHP or someone looking to learn more. The more the merrier. We?ll continue our conversation at PubDog in Columbia for a few drinks afterwards.

The doors open @ 6:30. Owen's talk will begin around 7:00. 6:30 - 7:00 is for pizza consumption, networking, and socializing. Do you have some code you'd like to get some feedback on? Bring it along with you! Our next quarterly code review will be the December group meeting (Dec 15). Please send your code in advance to [address removed]

Please be sure to RSVP so we don't order too little (or too much) pizza!
