Hello, I am the organizer of the penisula table top rpg meetup. As you can see it is pretty new. I set up the meetup so that people can find games or maybe even start games near them. I have only been playing for about 3 years but I have played dnd 3.5,shadowrun, star wars d20, and deadlands. I am willing to host games but I have never ran a game so would prefer if others did that. My prefered playing days are during the week at night due to the fact that my fiancee and I hang out on weekends. Well anyway I hope to hear from people and I hope this meetup if helpful.
The purpose of this group is to keep Bay Area Role Players connected. From what I see, RGP'sare mostly a underground word of mouth community. This groups primary focus is help transition from isolated gaming groups to a Bay Area Gaming Network.
How do we accomplish this? Well, here is where I ask for your thoughts and ideas. My intially thought is to setup a monthly "Sharing a Pint" event.
- Sharing a Pint: These will be short events (around a hour), where we will meet at different Pub's, tavern's, Brewery's, and Bar's around the bay area. Have a drink, network, share gaming experiences, and who knows.. maybe find a game to join or players for your campaign.
- DM Meetup Rights: If your running a game (or thinking of starting a game) and need rights to setup meetings or any other functionality to get your game going, let me know and I will give you the rights. In the end, I would like to see this group become totally organic. DM have the tools they need to find players, schedule games, and anyother functionality Meetup group can provide.
