PLUTO #CivicHackNight (& a mapping hacknight)

We are traveling to PLUTO!!

We are not talking about the planetoidial mass at the end of the Solar System. We are talking about one of NYC's most valuable datasets that has been freed for yacking, hacking, and mapping. (Read about it here. (http://codeforamerica.org/2013/07/25/epic-win-for-nycs-open-data-community-pluto-is-free/))

Download PLUTO (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/bytes/applbyte.shtml), bring your laptop, and we will break up into small groups to explore PLUTO. If you have cartography / mapping based projects, bring them!

Building off of last week's PLUTO #BetaTalk (https://www.meetup.com/betanyc/events/131513812/), we will use this CivicHackNight to explore your ideas around PLUTO. Bring your ideas, problems, and projects and lets build on them. This night is co-hosted with GEO NYC (https://www.meetup.com/geonyc/)'s Maptime working group.

Schedule

• 6:30 PM - Doors Open!
• 6:45 PM - Event starts with brief introductions.
• 7:00 PM - Hacking
• 9:15ish - Clean up and Close out.
