We Count! Public Life Data Design Sprint - May 9-12
At We Count! Public Life Data Design Sprint, join other urbanists, coders, civic technologists, designers, and more as we create better ways to collect, understand, and design with open data about people in public space. The event series includes an evening data collection workshop and meetup (May 9), opening party (May 11), and full-day design challenge (May 12), where interdisciplinary teams will design and pitch new approaches for transparently using public life data for public benefit. When we understand more about what we care about in our cities' public spaces—people—we can better shape policies, plans, and designs that work better for everyone. Join us, and over 100 fellow urbanists, coders, civic technologists, city planners, architects, product designers, and more as we work together to develop new ways to collect, understand, and design with data about public space. We Count! is a project of Gehl Institute, with generous support from our co-hosts and partners Samsung NEXT, Stae, BetaNYC, San Francisco City Planning, Seattle Department of Transportation, Gehl, and Copenhagen Municipality (list in formation).
