Civic Hacknight

What is a civic hacknight?

This is a weekly project night is for technologists, designers, developers, data scientists, map makers, and activists who are working on "civic technology" projects. Consider this to be a study hall or office hours to improve the city.

This night is for those who want to:
 * get work done on civic projects
 * start a new project, or find one to join
 * get feedback from technical, government, or community experts
 * learn about tools for local empowerment, open data, smart and open government

Bring your laptop, ideas, projects, maps, data, and questions. Collectively, we will try to answer them.

Hacknight resources:

A portion of these nights will turn into something we are experimenting with the title #CivicFreeSchool!

Looking forward to attending first civic night in NYC. SeamlessDocs is currently in Code for America so I have been to a couple in SF but looking forward to meet fellow civic hackers. ps. SeamlessDocs helps governments turn all their PDF forms into online, smart cloud versions.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
