“The brainstrust Meet Up group gives people affected by a brain tumour the opportunity to meet others, share experiences, learn and laugh. If you are affected, do join and attend a Meet Up if you can. The brainstrust team is so welcoming. Fantastic!” (Carer, 2012)
Brain tumours are rare and we know there isn’t much opportunity to meet others who have been touched by this devastating disease. brainstrust Meet Ups give you the chance to spend time with people in the same boat, in a chilled, non-clinical setting. These aren’t support groups as such, by all means you can share information and find mutual support if you want, but the primary objective is to say ‘hi’ and have some fun.
Everyone in the brain tumour community is welcome. It’s valuable for patients and past and current carers to network and make friends. It’s also lovely to be able to meet our fab fundraisers and give them a pat on the back, and we love having a chat with healthcare professionals. Or even if you simply follow brainstrust’s work and want see what Meet Ups are all about, come along. So register now, and come to a brainstrust Meet up!
