Meet Up for children with a brain tumour and their families in the North

Details
When a child has a brain tumour, we know the family needs help too. This memorable day of animal encounters at the Tropical Butterfly House near Sheffield, being organised with the help of The Smiley Riley Fund, will give you the chance to meet other families who really understand what life’s like at every stage of the journey.
We know how tough things can get, and how isolating it can all feel. This Meet Up will help you see that you’re not alone, and will be a great opportunity to share tips and offer mutual support.
What's more, it'll be fun for the whole family! We'll be getting up close and personal with mini beasts and meerkats, birds and butterflies, and amazing wildlife from around the world. It will be a real treat that you all deserve.
“It's very rare to sit amongst other families who can relate to the challenges that we are facing with our children. We found it really beneficial”. (Mum, Children’s Meet Up, 2013)
Tickets
Thanks to the generosity of The Smiley Riley Fund, we are thrilled to be able to fund entry for up to two children and two adults per family. We need to order tickets in advance, so please RSVP as accurately and as soon as possible. We'll need to know the ages of all children before the day.
You’re welcome to bring others too, but they will need to pay for their own tickets on the day.
Timings on the day
We'll start the day with our own exclusive tour of the centre, including an unforgettable close up experience in the walk-through Lemur enclosure. At 1.00pm there'll be a light lunch and a chance to chat together before we enjoy the spectacular birds of prey displaying their aerial antics.
Afterwards you are free to wander as you wish either in groups or just with your family, it's up to you. You can stay until closing time at 5.30pm if you like!
Transport
The Centre is just 10 minutes drive from the M1 motorway (J31) and there is ample free parking, right outside the entrance. There's more info and detailed directions at http://www.butterflyhouse.co.uk/plan-your-visit/
Wheelchairs and Buggies
The centre is fully accessible to wheelchair users except for a small corner of the Butterfly House which can be viewed from an alternate platform.
