Ride around South of Seattle (& Bakery Stop) 32 miles, 12-14mph

Details

REMEMBER, DST starts on this Sunday!

This ride was cancelled due to snow last time. Let's try again!

Please join us for a steady-paced 32-mile ride around South of Seattle. The ride starts at Woodland Park (by baseball field, northwest corner of N 50th St & Green Lake Way/Stone Way N intersection). We will explore the neighborhoods south of I-90. We will use both trails and city streets.

We will stop at Jefferson Community Center at mile 20 for a short bathroom break before the official bakery stop at Despi Delite Bakery a mile away. They have regular donuts and Filipino desserts. Please bring cash for them because they will charge 50 cents on your credit card if sale is less than $10 (but if you are like me, no problem spending $10 on their yummies!).

This route will take you up and down a few hills of Seattle and it maybe too hilly for some steady riders. We will regroup at the top of every hill for a reasonable amount of time, but if you can't keep up the pace, it will become self-paced. Please check out the map and elevation gain prior to the ride. And if you are a moderate rider with little hill climbing experience, this ride might be a good start!

Hydration/refueling prior to and during the ride is recommended. Please bring a bottle of water and some snacks (even though we stop at a bakery). We will stop at a park along the way to refill bottles as necessary.

Bathroom is available at Green Lake Small Craft Center at the start of the ride.

This will be a mentor ride. Evan, the ride leader candidate, will join us to take lead/sweep roles. If you have any question about this, please let us know.
