MORE Ride in N Seattle (Steady, 23 miles, 1300+ ft)

Details

Please join us for a MORE ride! Midweek Outdoor Riding in Evening is a weekly ride of about 20 miles with a few hills. It is a perfect way to add a little training for otherwise weekend riders without spending too much time. And it’s a great way to enjoy the long day of Pacific Northwest! Don’t go to an indoor spinning class! Instead, ride with us!

The start locations will be in North Seattle (Lower Woodland Park, Matthews Beach, View Ridge, etc.). We will ride on urban Seattle/Shoreline streets as well as some trails. Because of unavoidable traffic lights, we will keep a steady pace, but you will make it up with a few hills to climb. We will regroup at top of every hill for a reasonable time, but if you are too fast/slow for the majority, it will become self-paced. It’s nice to bring your own cue sheet. Please pack water, snack, and tools/tubes to fix a flat as always. Even though the majority of ride will be in daylight, please have your lights (both front and back) just in case.

This MORE ride starts at Matthews Beach. We will go north toward Jackson Park Golf Course then head south through Green Lake neighborhood. We will take a short break at Gas Works Park then ride through UW campus. We will climb up a hill in Wedgewood before finishing the route.

This is a mentor ride for a ride leader candidate, Tom Moberg.
