Sumner - Tacoma Narrows (52 miles, 2400' elevation, STEADY PACE)

ADDING A STEADY PACE for this ride.

Lets do lunch/coffee in Gig Harbor.

We will leave the Sumner Fred Meyer (east side of parking lot, next to garden center), ride over to Ruston Way for some great views of commencement bay, up past Pt Defiance Zoo and over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (via protected bike/pedestrian lane) to Gig Harbor.

If the weather is decent, we will have some spectacular views.

Bring your camera - Some of the sights you'll see: Foss Waterway, Commencement Bay, Ferry Boats, Puget Sound, Stadium High School, The Narrows Bridge, Cheney Stadium, The Tacoma Dome ... and just to throw a little grit into it, the Port of Tacoma industrial area.

Restrooms at start, on Ruston Way and Gig Harbor.

Steady rain cancels.

Please print cue sheet if desired, arrive early enough to prepare your bike, listen to the SMART talk and roll out at 8:00 AM.
