Saturday Morning Rides in Snohomish County #11 (Moderate/Steady)

Details

Saturday Morning Rides in Snohomish County: Come and check out the the beauty of Snohomish County; we will cover pretty much every corner! Routes start at 30 miles in December and increase to just over 60 miles by the end of March. The elevation averages 50ft/mile.

Today's route: This route couldn't be more diverse! It heads south via Soper Hill to Lake Stevens, picks up the Centennial trail for a little bit and then gets into the back county to end at the first reststop at a country store in Granite Falls. More back country and then it descends into urban Arlington, goes around the airport, and over the freeway. The route continues right next to I-5 and after a few graceful turns you will land at our second reststop: the Seattle Premium Outlets.

Stats: 48.3 miles and 1917 feet elevation - the last 18 miles are flat

Stops: MP 19.8 Marks Country Store in Granite Falls, MP 42.8 Restrooms at the Seattle Premium Outlets.

Ride leaders:
Steady (12-14mph): Larry DeBardi
Moderate (14-16mph): Joseph Roberts and Jack Nolan.

Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain/snow cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:00 am in the comment section. In that case the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
